This was likely caused by an update of assimp...

I confirm that this is due to assimp.

I was on the develop branch (Windows) without problem, I upgraded assimp (with pacman -Syu) to 5.2.4-1 and now it is broken.

Reverting to version 5.2.3 fixes the bug. I reported it here: assimp/assimp#4574
Meanwhile, I will create a patch to use version 5.2.3 on Windows instead of 5.2.4.
