As more and more dynamic web apps are powered by XHR, it's not always possible to run apps via the file:// URL. For instance, WebGL apps require a web server to load up textures.

The Dart Editor should run apps via some embedded web server.

Well, it happens that we do have an embedded web server. We start it up and use it for debug launches. Due to some interactions with the webkit inspector protocol and the browser security model we need to serve the app from http: urls instead of file: urls when debugging.

Can you attach a small sample app that will fail when run from file: urls, but would succeed from http: urls? This will help us test this scenario.
