How Inventions work #4
Comments
Inventions cannot interact with the scientist while moving to their target location |
When placing an invention, the scientist will move at half speed as well as other inventions that are currently moving. The half speed is subject to change and can go slower if needed. |
If a jack-in-the-box is at the bottom of the stairs, the box will launch the scientist all the way up the stairs to the next floor. |
The skateboard is not allowed to be moved and is in a fixed location. The skateboard only moves when the scientist interacts with it and then the skateboard moves with the scientist. The skateboard will stop once it comes in contact with other inventions and the scientist will get off. |
Lincoln Logs = Batteries. |
The scientist can only go down the stairs if he is facing the same direction as the stairs. Same goes for launching up the stairs with the jack-in-the-box. |
Inventions should move faster than the scientist |
Inventions can travel over pits, every invention but the skateboard |
Jack-in-the-box can be used to jump over the top of stairs to prevent you for going back down (see Example level 8) |
Jack-in-the-box can go up the stairs itself |
After pits are turned into bridges, on the back end they should now appear as Floor objects so they are walkable |
If I remember correctly, inventions do not need to obey ladder/stair rules. They can go up/down both ladders and stairs. |
While playtesting with Erik, there are some things that I learned about how Inventions are suppose to actually operate.
