Ideas that our team brainstormed:

1. Digital Evidence Transparency brainstormed by @Windosaurus and @stella-cai , researched more into by @stella-cai and @safaal28

• purpose: there exists a distrust between the public and police; providing a reliable chain of evidence can renew trust in police where records would be immutable using Blockchain and wrongful convictions due to misleading evidence will be reduced
• issue: this isn't monetizable
• conclusion: this is a social justice issue that's meaningful to our team (which meets our teams passions) however it would have to be developed as a non-profit which contradicts our current goals

2. Blockchain-backed Property Search researched by @karkevin

• purpose: reduce fraudalent listings (e.g. Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist) and have transparent listings for potential tenants
• solution: create a blockchain-enabled MLS using IPFS (a decentralized file system/database), use smart contracts with Ethereum
• it could also have information such as: how many bids are on this rental and what's the highest bid price, past-tenant history
• issue: something similar to this idea currently exists but for buying and selling instead of rentals
• conclusion: this is a potential idea for our team

3. Counterfeit Goods Verification

• idea: could be used for jewelry and luxury goods, or for car parts

4. Blockchain as a Digital Watermark

• idea: used for music
• similar solution

5. Package Tracking

• idea: prevent fraud for both buyers and sellers in the case that the seller never sends a product or the buyer never receives a product

6. Fix Front Running researched by @Windosaurus

• idea: when a transaction is going through, it takes time to process and someone else can steal the transaction ID before it has gone through
• issue: it's too complicated to solve

7. Blockchain for Enterprise IP Theft brainstormed and researched by @stella-cai

• purpose: prevent companys' IP addresses from being stolen example
• solution: use Blockchain to record access, downloads, or shares; set up systems to notify security when someone engages in suspicious activity
• perk: we haven't found any companies that have come up with a similar solution
• issue: we're not sure about how we'd implement this

8. Transaction Mapper from Suggested Startups and researched by @shayl6 and @SuperQiQi0701

• purpose: prevent money laundering

• solution: we can monetize off of this idea where our clients woud be banks and financial institutions; use Blockchain for AML (anti-money laundering)
• issue: we aren't familiar with money laundering

9. Fractional Property Investment brainstormed and researched by @Windosaurus

• purpose: make investing more achievable to new investors and younger people who have less money saved up
• solution: use Blockchain to tokenize properties and divide them into fractions so that people with less capital have easier access to investment opportunities
