Task "Open Journal" not recognized on Valve Index

Describe the bug
During the opening scene I am instructed to open the Journal with "X" or "Menu" key on my controller. The Index has the Journal mapped to the "B" button on both controllers and has no "X" button.
Pressing "B" opens the journal but the game does not recognize this and will sit on the task indefinitely. Closing the Journal will not continue the game.
The only way to get past is to use the "Use Journal" Choice option of the opened journal.

To Reproduce

1. Delete profile folder folders "devian.tech" and "deviant_tech"
2. Start a new game
3. Follow game until the task appears to open the Journal

Expected behavior
The game should recognize that I opened the Journal and continue

Screenshots
As you can see, the Journal is open but the task is not completed. Closing the journal now makes no difference. I have to use the "Use Journal" Option seen in the screenshot to get past this point.

System Info:

• VR Device: Valve Index
• Game Version: 2.4.1+165@99c8b22 (latest on itch.io)

Additional context
While this is only an annoying bug it may alienate new players since the game stops working directly after trying it out for the first time.

Hello,
I cannot really reproduce this since I have a Quest 2 but it sounds like a Index problem, could you try binding new keys to your Index? After that, send more informations about it so I will know how to classificate this bug and help you further!

I haven't had a chance to retest this to see if it's still occurring due to health issues. When I am back to normal (soon hopefully) I'll re check it if someone else with index access hasn't reconfirmed by then.

I can confirm that this problem doesn't exist with Quest 2 but yeah, a user with Index could fully confirm it.

If you have the Index knuckle controllers, could you confirm that these buttons fire the correct event:
