400,000+ entries in TESS input catalog
- → ~4500 TESS Objects of Interest
- → ~130 Confirmed planets

What can cause false positives? Comets, and?
- Flase Alarms: data quality issues
- False Positive: astro stuff
- non-planet transit -- eclipsing binary from background
- VESPA uses known catalogs/shape of eclipse to help distinguish
-
If we use more generalized, astrophysical priors (rather than centered around an initial guess), can we calculate an Odds ratio/Bayesian detection statistic to assign a P_astro to TOIs?
- Probably beyond the scope
-
What do we do when we have the wrong initial guess?
- Test: quality of fit for odd and even eclipses
- Even number and odd number eclipses
- At MAP value -- are later eclipses much worse fit?
- If 20sig outliers -- something probably off
- We can do this with the MAP value (before PE)
-
GP linalg error: suggestions on how to proceed?
-
Do priors seem reasonable?
