Please add support for level lock ring integration, newly released this week! #655
Comments
Which level lock model do you have? My understanding was that they have native HomeKit support out of the box. If not, I can't promise an integration, as they are likely using an API similar to the other Amazon Key based locks. See #384 (comment) for details on why that API isn't part of this plugin |
Hi, I have the level lock bolt. Yes it has HomeKit support, but to integrate into Amazon’s world it all or nothing: meaning you either have Amazon, HomeKit or just Bluetooth but no combination of choices. this integration may be a little different than issue #384, as this is not a true “key” integration and simply the lock that has been added. I’m sure it’s hard to think that a developer has the same setup as I have and it’s a little nitch, so I understand that it may be quite some time - but I’m still hopeful that it will roll out! Thank you for your help!

this bit me today. too far from HomeKit hubs, but its exclusive. either ring or HomeKit. |
@EagleDTW could you follow the steps in https://github.com/dgreif/ring/wiki/Data-Discovery and post the results here? That will give me some idea of whether it's possible or not. |
Apologies to @dgreif but I already returned mine |
@cefoster0 do you still have your level lock? If so, would you be willing to follow the steps in https://github.com/dgreif/ring/wiki/Data-Discovery? |
I have it, but the lock does not appear on the shared devices to the separate account setup for Homebridge. Is it part of the security system?

Apologies I quickly returned the level lock right after this post. Unreliability of Bluetooth plus the family didn’t care for it.

@EagleDTW I can't say how it's represented in the data since I don't have one to test out. Did it not show up in the results from the Data-Discovery tool? Maybe try running it with your main account instead of a secondary account |
@dgreif I have the home bridge installed on docker on a HassOS VM, so there is not a lot exposed. I tried to install the docker compose NodeJS to install NPM, but no joy. Unfortunately I feel that this is not going to be a viable option for me to get this info - unless if I can install the data cli on a separate system and pull the data? |
It can be run on any platform. You just need to install node js first |
Thank you Dusty, for reviewing |
@EagleDTW thank you for posting the device data! Unfortunately I don't see the lock in there, which indicates it it connected to the Ring app in a new and different way. This isn't something I'm able to support at this time. Hopefully you can get it to work well with the native HomeKit integration. |
Hi dgrief,
Unfortunately it’s either Amazon sidewalk or HomeKit, but not both.
Thank you for trying,
Daniel

I think a new plugin for Amazon Sidewalk might be in order. I don't know much about it, but my guess is that it's similar to Amazon Key, which has its own API and authentication setup. Not something I have time to take on right now, but hopefully someone else in the homebridge community will tackle it. |
Hi Developers,
Please will you add support for level lock & ring integration, newly released this week!
Would love to have it exposed to HomeKit.
Thank you,
Daniel
