Several PPC Macs included infrared networking support (IrDA and/or IRTalk), a short range point-to-point technology often forgotten nowadays (except on remotes).

See this website for more information. To implement this, we could either forward infrared to/from any infared blaster/receiver on the host, or emulate communication over the web, or across two emulators, including possibly the Newton.

I also know some models of Macs had an IR port for remotes. The family's Performa 6360 comes to mind. Quite the surprise when turning on the family's new Sony TV also turned on the computer.
