Describe the bug
Setting (gnus-article-emulate-mime t) in mu4e--view-render-buffer can result in high CPU usage (and several seconds pause) on some messages. The problem is in gnus-display-mime where this setting triggers mm-uu-dissect-text-parts which the function provoking a high CPU load.

How to Reproduce
I sent you a test message.

Environment
OS: Debian
Emacs 28.2
mu commit 31f0c40

Checklist

  • you are running either an 1.8.x/1.10.x release or master (otherwise please upgrade)
  • you can reproduce the problem without 3rd party extensions (including Doom/Evil, various extensions etc.)

Could reproduce.. I "fixed" it by turning off that variable by default (gnus enables it by default) I suspect it's a problem in Gnus as well.
