no data in subsription page

was trying to view the subscriptions for

following the link https://cmsweb.cern.ch/phedex/prod/Data::Subscriptions?reqfilter=1525098;node=50 and cannot get anything but a red banner "Error retrieving subscriptions data"

I see from the logs that we hit apache size limits from time to time, and this particular subscription is huge.
