Went to the following link for password reset

https://hub.docker.com/reset-password/

Waiting hours even till next day but no email for password reset

Same problem

@ppodgorsek

Me too :(

@mghazizadeh
Copy link

this is most likely because the primary email set on your account is either an incorrect email or a different email address all together then the one you're checking. Please contact support.docker.com
The reset password email notification service is working according to our records.

@ppodgorsek
Copy link

My email address was correct (it is the one I provided to the support team). They were able to help me out. Thanks again to them!

It could be possible that the email has been simply deleted without even reaching the account (inbox or spam folder) due to anti-spam filters. Maybe the documentation should indicate what address should be whitelisted to avoid such cases.

@williamespindola
Copy link

My email was correct too. And I can't contact support.docker.com because I can't log in.
I have the same problem with two emails.

@PhilipHarries

Also have this problem - have successfully recovered password in the past, but no longer working.

@williamespindola

The problem persist for while. I think that project leaders don't fucking care about this problem.
Exists many issues address to the same problem but any replay, any help for the user.

Do have the same issue... trying to reset my password, but can't/don't receive any email.

I am facing the same problem with my docker hub login.
I am not getting email when clicked on forgot password and providing my email address.

To validate the same... I even tried to registered an account with the same docker id and email address and it threw an error at me saying there is already an account associated with that email address.

Can someone please help?

Thanks,

Thanks @williamespindola . I have done that already but they will respond only during the weekday.
It would be really helpful if such fundamental services are be supported by them over the weekend.
Thanks for your help.

Hi @williamespindola , would you know what's the usual SLA on response from support@docker.com?

Thanks

@williamespindola

For me it was 3 business days. 1 reply for identification, other for confirmation of some data and other with solution.

Also it is a fuck bad design for asking a different docker id.

@clarkritchie

@egloblex

I solved my problem by sending email directly to support@docker.com with the associated email. The support team got back to me pretty quickly. Just leave a dent here in case anybody has the same issue in the future.

Well darn, I was hoping to find a quick solution.

I tried just creating a new account. But for a new account, I have to first validate my e-mail. But the validation e-mail isn't being sent to me either.

Sending a support e-mail.

I think: e-mail address is compared case sensitive with stored one.

The routes for authentication and authentication management on Docker Hub have been improved over the last month, so please try again and see if you are continuing to see issues. Thanks!

@eldhoabraham

Case sensitive bug it is!!
I had first letter of my email in caps (due to autocorrect most probably)

@j2inet

j2inet commented Feb 21, 2022

Not working for me. I checked my junk mail folder too. I am not receiving any authentication emails. Whatever problems were fixed, the one affecting me isn't one of them. I'm consistent about keeping my usernames and e-mails in lower case since I never know if a system is case sensitive.

Not being able to authenticate for 10+ months is kind of a blocker. I've since been using other solutions.

@j2inet

j2inet commented Mar 8, 2022

I tried something today. It got me in. But I am not a fan of the solution.

I had originally been trying to sign in under the name 'j2inet' (one of the domains that I own, minute the dot). It had been 11 months ago that I had attempted to sign up, got as far as being asked to validate my e-mail, and was unable to continue under this and other IDs.

Today, I tried the password reset again, but no email came. I tried signing up again using the same e-mail that I used 11 months ago and the same user ID. I got an error that the user ID was taken. I tried again using the same e-mail address but added the digit 2 to the end of my name. The activation e-mail came.

Once in, I tried to view the profile under the name j2inet. There isn't one, despite the earlier email telling me that the name was taken.

https://hub.docker.com/u/j2inet

Of course, I now have a profile under a less desired name. I'm not a fan of this, as I would have preferred to keep my original username. But it functions. I unenthusiastically suggest that anyone else that has had long running issues try again with a different username.

https://hub.docker.com/u/j2inet2

It's almost like my original user name exists as some orphaned record (or maybe it was private by default and remains that way having never been validated).

My email address has Cap in it, but not my username. Somehow, email did't work for the reset process, but username did.

@capital-G

I do not understand how this is not considered a security flaw? What happens in case your account was hijacked or lost the password and need to update an image due to security patches?

@Elie-Bordron

This worked for me, thanks!

@alexanderdudko
Copy link

Haven't used my account for a while (probably that is the true cause for most of the cases people comment here about).
Now tried to login or reset password - no luck. No email is coming. Cannot create a new account with the email because the system is saying it is already used.
Is it possible that an account could be "deactivated" or "deleted" or "archived" after long time of not being used?
After reading all comments above, it is quite clear that there definitely is a condition under which the system doesn't work as expected.

I truly don't understand why they still don't fix it. It's obv an issue for many users! Still waiting for the mail..

@ivanTemelkov

I tried several time the following link https://login.docker.com/u/reset-password providing my email address and it didn't work.
Then I contacted the support support@docker.com and they suggested to use the link: https://id.docker.com/reset-password and provide my username.
The only problem is that the form there accepts only e-mails and then it doesn't send restore instructions either.

I tried https://login.docker.com/u/reset-password providing my username and this time it worked.

https://login.docker.com/u/reset-password

The link you provided is down https://login.docker.com/u/reset-password

It seems it's impossible to reset the password. I don't get any e-mail with any of the methods I've found.

Please, help.

@ivanTemelkov
Copy link

Hi,
I guess you have to arrive there through their page clicking on password recovery. Remember to use username and not e-mail.
If you can't get there, may be write to support@docker.com
They aren't of much help, but in one of the iterations they did activate the procedure for me.
Best regards,
Ivan

@kands-code

I have the same issue. This is so bad!

@heidi-holappa
Copy link

I faced the same issue and found a solution. I chose a username with two capitalized alphabetical characters (e.g. 'FirstnameLastname'). Docker automatically created a new string with all characters as lowercase characters (e.g. 'firstnamelastname'). This was hinted at the confirmation email I received but was not clearly stated. When I tried to reset a lost password, I only got the email when I used the lowercase string for a username.

I'm adding this because it supports the speculation on this being an issue with case sensitivity with either email or username.

I have the same issue and the emails I've sent to info@docker.com bounced back:

I hade the same issue and I tried following and it worked for me:
In my Account Settings I changed my email address to another one.
I approved the verification email.
Then I clicked the change password button and after a few minutes the reset email was sent to my new email address.
