Is it possible to build on Debian 8 or recent Ubuntu?

Hi there,

It should be possible, but I haven't tried that yet.
Besides, you might (or might not) hit a bug in the netmap stack, that's why I currently get a kernel panic at my laptop.

If you try this on Linux, please report back :)
