With GHC 7.10 and base-4.8.0.0 Data.Monoid gained a new Alt type constructor (which is an Alternative wrapper).

Should Control.Alternative.Free.Alt be renamed to avoid confusion and qualified imports?
Not sure it's an issue though.

Ultimately the problem is that short nice-to-use names are in short supply. Anything that will never clash will be too long or ugly to be pleasant to use. I think we'll live with the conflict for now.
