Your use case

What would you like to do?

Ensure the downloaded installer isn't corrupt and hasn't been tampered with.

Why would you like to do it?

This is supposed to be a security-focused app/protocol, and lacking the ability to do this is a gross oversight.

How would you like to achieve it?

Checksums and signed with PGP/GPG keys that can be verified, ideally kept on a separate server from the installer as a compromise of that server would render the verification info useless.

Have you considered any alternatives?

So now this issue has been closed as a duplicate of the other, which I posted in only to have that one closed. Either this issue needs to be reopened or a new one needs to be opened.
