Example:
Workspace 1 - Browser
Workspace 2 - Video Player and Code
Workspace 3 - Files

1- Go to workspace 2 and open terminal
2- Press "Isolate foreground window shortcut"

Result:
Workspace 1 - Browser
Workspace 2 - Terminal
Workspace 3 - Video Player and Code
Workspace 4 - Files

By pressing the isolate keyboard shortcut, all background windows would move to a newly created workspace to the right of selected workspace.

This would make organizing workspaces faster since an user wouldn't need to go to the last workspace, open an app and then use the workspace overview to move the workspace to the desired location (#464).

This would mostly be a feature request for Gala, our window manager. Beside that issue you could then also open a issue here to make the keyboard shortcut configurable from the settings.

Note: Fullscreen apps are already moved into a new workspace. Maximized will too at some point: #570.

Closing this issue because it would be more straight forward if a reorder workspaces #464 shortcut is implemented.
