Negating channels doesn't seem to work

Tried negating these permissions in my permissions plugin (luckperms) but users are still able to use /tc, /nc etc.

Negated permissions:

• -towny.chat.town
• -towny.chat.nation
• -towny.chat.general
• -towny.chat.local

Also tried negating and removing the perms in the townyperms.yml to no avail am I missing something?

The reason I want these commands (/tc,/nc) negated/removed is because I have a plugin that manages chat that isn't very compatible with townychat and using /tc,/nc etc causes issues so I don't want players to be able to use those commands
