Feature Request: Enable automatic and encrypted backups to selected folder

Instead lf storing data in the app, please consider having the data stored in a file which can be saved to the documents folder and the app will load and save the file, like editing a office spreadsbeet.

By having a file, apps like Syncthing can be used to sync the data between users devices without having to manually import and export the data to a file every single time.

And having an option to encrypt the entire file with a password for security.

Hi @trymeouteh, thanks for the suggestion. It seems indeed a good idea and I'll add it on the backlog of to-dos. I hope I will get some time to develop it soon :)

Would love this feature as well.
Also, thanks for the extremely well designed app, it might actually be the most well designed and beautiful interface for a finance app on android that I've found so far. It's extremely simple yet it has everything I want to add or remove in two easy clicks. Nice work!

This feature is still one of my priorities, but still don't have an ETA for it. Unfortunately I am the only maintainer at the moment and time is not much.

I have a pull-request with the implementation of automatic backup + encryption. Unfortunately, it is not possible at the moment to select a destination folder.

Thank you very much for the update. It is working like a charm on Android 14.
I have opened the application 3 times, and 3 backups were automatically generated.
The test: Erasing all app data, uninstalling, reinstalling and then restoring the data. It worked very smoothly and seamlessly with no error. 10/10
