Describe the solution you'd like
There is only one carrier made by the Syndicate, the "Class C" Freighter (though it is not currently in the game). This is a modified Bulk Freighter with 12 bays. I am proposing that there be a "Class C" Protector, which has 12 fighter docking locations. Basically, it's a Pond Strider, but with the Protector model, 12 fighter ports, and designed by the Syndicate. (Perhaps it could be one of the ships unlocked during FW, where you fight against it in Reconciliation, and fight with it in Checkmate)

Describe alternatives you've considered
Another option would be for the Syndicate to develop a ship that does not use the Protector as the base ship, but creates a new ship.

Additional context
The fighter/drone docking arms should be where the old turret mounts are. There should also be a turret in the middle of all of the bays, at the center of the ship, so that it has at least some anti-missile. The Syndicate could use it against the Navy in the Checkmate branch of FW.

That sounds far too powerful, especially since the gold standard (F-Type Hauler) of fighter capacity during the FW campaign is six.

I was thinking about that, and yes, that is extremely overpowered. The fighter capacity could possibly be reduced to 4, with the middle turrets staying turrets(2 turrets), and the ones at the front and back of Protector becoming just 4. I was going off of the assumption that you could attach 2 fighter/drone ports to each turret mount.

Knowing that Syndicate is likely far more resourceful than the FW, I can see that they would be able to go out and build a carrier much more spacious than either the navy carrier or the Skein. However, 12 fighters is indeed very overpowered for a human ship, although I can see where the number comes from (Protector has 6 protrusions, and since having only six fighter makes it about as powerful as a Hauler 3F, its not really that interesting, so have it have 2 per protrusion). I would propose to either: have it have 8 fighters (6 for each module, plus 2 under the cockpit), or 6 fighters and six drones (one for each module). Since Syndicate is likely to produce such warship after the Freighter C, finding drones to fit into that space should be no problem.

Given that the description of the Barb specifically calls out the fact that the Syndicate does not produce a carrier, I think that the Class C Protector would make an excellent mission ship to have unlocked at some point during the Syndicate campaign. Perhaps have an up-armored, up-shielded carrier version of the Protector that unlocks at roughly the same point in the Syndicate campaign as the Dreadnought in the FW story, and presumably around the same point as when the Carrier would be unlocked in the Navy campaign.

That being said, it definitely makes sense.
