I think the best way is to switch to https://github.com/dj-fiorex/angular2-smart-table fork!

Below is a previous description of the task:

See akveo/ng2-smart-table#1319. We need to do the same to update it to support Ivy and the latest Angular versions. Also, see akveo/ng2-smart-table#1131.
