A micro thing that doesn't affect balance.

Would need to be documented in tooltip.

I'll take this one on, though I may need some help with the anti-adjacency part and how to go about that.

I'm also going to take feedback for names and upgrades on existing versions, and look at getting proper build icons in place for them.

After looking further, I noticed that the Bubble Shield upgrade for UEF costs considerably more Energy than RAS, and is allowed, making the anti-RAS case rather weak. A debate needs to happen about whether or not RAS should have Adjacency.

I would hope that in fairness to the game that pre-dated presets, costs are
dead equal and presets above and beyond SCU costs should differ by 0 from
the manual creation. have heard rambos might be imba and noone ever really
checked.

Preset recalibration is complete my side. I don't want to commit until I get a bit more balance input regarding the removal/changing/introduction of some upgrades, and the situation with Adjacency (Currently it works for all upgrades)

I'm unsure if we should delay this for 3637?

Yes, we should.

@aeoncleanse Status of this?

Pending discussion. I want to entirely nuke the presets system and replace it with a properly flexible, functional UI and totally new methodology.

I think that requires some more specification

Basically I want to create a new UI for the Quantum Gateways. When you open it, you have the single buildable: The SCU. Then, where the build-queue would sort of be, you summon up the SCU upgrade menu for your faction. You are then able to highlight whichever upgrades you want the next SCU off the line to come with, and the highlights persist from one game to the next, so the selection is saves somewhere.

When an SCU is created, it walks to the rally point, then begins to upgrade to the designated state automatically. This system allows for maximum flexibility, as you can get 95% through an SCU build then change your mind about what it needs to have and quickly flick the selections over. It allows you to fire and forget. It also gets rid of any potential balance issues around adjacency bonuses.

Additionally, I see it as an absolute must to be able to A: Queue upgrades properly, and B: Be able to queue upgrades on multiple SCUs at once.

A variation on the above system would be that the selection could be passed to the SCU or stored or whatever when you put it in the build queue! This would be the best possible flexibility and ease of use.

Unfortunately, this would be the most complex UI upgrade attempted so far in FAF :/

Upgrade queues should be a thing though, no doubt there.

This is a replication of the SCU upgrade preset UI from GAZ_UI -- we have it integrated already.

What we have is pitiful in comparison to my vision. It's so poorly implemented, so poorly documented, I don't know of even a single person who uses it. In fact, I'm not even sure how to use it.

I regularly use this feature, the one drawback I see is not being able to easily upgrade SCUs individually (mitigated by the fact that you normally only want one kind of SCU).

Aeoncleanse, in your version there would be no adjacency, correct?

@aeoncleanse

For the base scu there would, but not for the upgrade's costs

(mitigated by the fact that you normally only want one kind of SCU) -- quite a personal play-style call there.

RAS preset is integrated in 3644, adjacency bonuses are nerfed.
