Need to handle apps that target api 26 and replace startService. Will work on this.

I really need a fix for Android 8, we received tons of crash reports in the latest build of our app...

I just checked. This pull request is not merged #15 and this issue is still there on Andriod version 8.

I am wondering if this repo is still active. @ferrannp please can you confirm.
