Why CheckboxList's relationships method accept ONLY BelongToMany relation?

CheckboxList definition:

CheckboxList::make('speakers')
                        ->label(__('forms.conference.speaker'))
                        ->relationship('speakers', 'name')

speaker Model have BelongTo relation

public function conference(): BelongsTo
    {
        return $this->belongsTo(Conference::class);
    }

and conference have HasMany

public function speakers(): HasMany
    {
        return $this->hasMany(Speaker::class);
    }

When i open create route i get

Filament\Forms\Components\CheckboxList::getRelationship(): Return value must be of type ?Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Relations\BelongsToMany, Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Relations\HasMany returned

But why i'am constrained to use a BelongToMany relation with pivot table?

What do you need in this case? Can you explain the required scenario?

i want that this code:

CheckboxList::make('speakers')
                        ->label(__('forms.conference.speaker'))
                        ->relationship('speakers', 'name')
->options([])

works with relations described above

What data are you populating there, please provide more context or share code by replicating the scenario.

It should work on hasMany as well.
