Hello

I get two identical messages to Telegram from one received WA message.

I use Oneplus 3T with custom hardened Lineage (16.0) ROM (android 9) and Whatsapp Business app (2.22.3.77) and Notif (0.7.1)

is it for all WhatsApp messages or only one/some? do you see duplications from other apps forwarded through notifbot as well?

Yes for all messages from persons and groups. I dont use it to anything else than WA but for test purposes I installed Element (Matrix) and got also two messages to Telegram. Thou another was "Element: one new notification" and another was the detailed message but in WA it is two identical messages.

in that case this is likely a whatsapp issue.

I know that gmail at least used to always send two notifications for everything, they just quickly dismiss the first one automatically so normal user would only see one, but notifbot will get both.

I did add a dedup logic that will auto ignore a notification that's identical to the last one within 5 seconds. do you always get the duplications consecutively?

Hmm now when you said that they seem like two identical messages but there is a small difference.
Like this:

From Whatsapp Business:
GroupName: +123456789: Message

versus

From Whatsapp Business:
Groupname:
+123456789: Message

So there is two different almost identical messages/notifications. I can totally understand if that kind of difference is hard to filter and I can live with that.
