What could be improved

Since Flame is 1.0.0 now and is considered as stable and production ready - community and users will rely on it and would be interested in having future plans described (on the high level at least)

Why should this be improved

This will provide predictability for the users and info on how big Flame will become :-)

Any risks?

No risks.

More information

From what I've seen in discord discussions and issues - core team is aware of plans and further steps. It make sense to share it to the world! 🔥

Flutter is a great example on provided general roadmap.
I can group the info into appropriate page or so but I assume that team has better understanding of the engine future.

Where can I see the next development plan?

There is no roadmap yet, but we are working on setting one. Feel free to open issues with features that you would like to see in Flame in the future.

I hope to have a game editor like UE4, unity and Godot.

@txj-mssl having full game editor makes no sense so far but handy VSCode plugin for Flame might be something interesting. Not sure about list of features included in it, but overall the idea is quite good in my opinion.

I agree an editor is out of scope. However, examples/tutorials of how to make editor UI in Flame would be greatly appreciated, speaking as a gamedev who’s on the fence about Flame for a game project.

It seems highly likely that Flame’s deep integration with Flutter will make this kind of thing very easy to do, but actually seeing it done in practice is far more compelling.

About the tutorials mentioned here. Is there a place for me to sign up for the next steps in flame-tutorials (like Klondike that is still in development), like an issue or something that is tracking the development of these docs? If there is, I suggest that you guys leave this out in the actual docs for the other developers to have an easier time finding it.

I don't think we have any issues open for the two tutorials, I know the klondike one has been done one step at the time like #1678, but I agree that we should have issues for them!

#1938 is a bit of a roadmap currently.
