libexiv2: "run: saving metadata failed: Failed to write image" - no EXIF-information exported into JPGs

Hi,

when using the any Gimp flatpak version after commit 6b73214102d2c232a520923fc04166aed89fa52c392b4173ad77d44c1a8fb51b (2023-04-25), saving EXIF data when exporting into a JPG is not working anymore.

Reproduce:

• OS: Ubuntu 22.04 and Ubuntu 24.04
• open any image containing EXIF data (I do this with TIFF-files creasted by RawTherapee)
• export image (Ctrl + E) into a JPG image
• receive error: "run: saving metadata failed: Failed to write image"
• the JPG is created, but it does not contain any EXIF information

The change after this commit is an update of libexiv2 from version 0.27.6 to 0.28.x. Maybe it makes sense to consider a downgrade to an older libexiv2-version?
