Following Setup:
Oculus Quest 2 only
Fs2020
Developer mode enabled in headset.

right and left Controller are visible in the game. One with the right controller the click event works. Left controller has no events.

how can I help to debug the root cause?

This is probably #24 or #26 - do you still have this problem with the MSI at the bottom of https://github.com/fredemmott/hand-tracked-cockpit-clicking/actions/runs/3862788049 ?

No noticeable change. I removed all registry settings like described. Installed new version 0.2. The HTCC settings menu looks different. the amount of settings in registry is now only 4. The behavior is likely the same. right controller works and left controller is only visible but does not react on clicks.

I will now try a complete remove and reinstall to check if there are changes. let me know if I can help to debug

This also generally improves the way actions and spaces are tracked.

fixes #31 - Fix controller emulation compatibility with DCS's native OpenXR support
refs #29 - Only right hand gestures are working

Still not been able to reproduce this, however that change does make things a bit cleaner.

The only way I've been able to reproduce this is when I'm trying to use my left hand to reach something at the far right, like menus - in this case, the problem is the rotation of my left hand is different and Oculus's firmware can't understand the gestures

I was on holiday the last 3 weeks. Therefore no flight hours. Anyhow I will make it work because this is awesome and helps the immersion. It like in the 90s where we hacked the Mediacenter driver to display HDTV. Today all OOTB but at this time HD tv was awesome.
