QUESTION: What do we do if a term is deleted in an LCSH or MeSH update? #4

From Tony: Currently our practice is to delete both the MeSH a d LCSH authority records from the files of mapped headings.

However, NLM usually suggests a different MeSH heading to be used when indexing or cataloging a bibliographic item discussing the concept represented by the deleted heading. In some cases the suggested MeSH heading can still be mapped to an LCSH heading, so we always investigate this possibility.
