[Feature Request] Option to configure dashboard from compose file

Description

Add an option to configure dashboard from it's own compose file. Right now it's possible to use auto detection using labels for services and it works great thus removing need to edit services.yaml file. Such an option for other yaml configuration files would be cool. One would have his/her whole dashboard configured from within compose files (stacks) in portainer or any other place. Reporoducing dashboard would happen automatically on running these services without the need to put those config files manually in the container.

I do use compose labels for services and their widgets. But i do not see in the documentation how can i configure bookmarks from compose files. Also on fresh install there are 3 default empty services configured, docker socket needs configuration and multiple bookmarks are predefined too. How can one override those configs from within compose file without ever touching config files inside container, or mounting them.

Hmm, that is true. I guess we'd need a few extra options for those parts.

I would be interested in implementing this. However, do you have an example of configuring services from the compose file?

Hi! I've written an initial implementation for the bookmarks but got swept into some other stuff. I have some extra time today, so I'll work on it a little.

I am admittedly a bit stuck now. I am mainly using service-helpers.js as an example. However, I always get a null object for the labels. services-helpers grabs the labels here. I just duplicated the logic for the bookmarks-helper.js I will debug this further later tonight.

I made a lot more progress.

I chose the following format you suggested:
homepage.bookmarks.this_is_bookmark_group.this_is_bookmark_name.this_is_bookmark_abbr="href"

I will try to get this cleaned up this week and open a pull request. I'll handle the environment variables and docker override in a different PR.
