Application menus inside/beneath window titlebar?

Would it be possible to add an option whether to show the application menu in the global top bar (like it is done currently) or in the application windows title bar like it used to be in the old days?

I'm using a setup with 3 displays and the top bar is shown only on the primary one, which often makes it a hassle to reach the menus of the application I am currently using when it is on a different screen than the primary one.

When it is feasible I would be willing to look into the implementation myself :-)
