Little correction: from querier to ingester. The query-frontend never directly talk to the ingesters. |

Thanks @narqo, LGTM! In Jsonnet we also set max-connection-age on the query-frontend but I noticed it's already synched with Helm, so all good here.
A couple of things:
- Please add CHANGELOG entry to
operations/helm/charts/mimir-distributed/CHANGELOG.md(Helm chart has a dedicated CHANGELOG) - Please wait for @krajorama before merging. He's the Helm expert and I don't want to take over him.
- In a follow up PR, could you also sync
grpc_server_max_connection_idlebetween Jsonnet and Helm, and remove the "ignore" rule in the comparison?

There is another metric `cortex_bucket_store_series_blocks_queried` added by jhalterman in 7112 which serves better the purpose of detecting uncompacted blocks. The reason is that it has an explicit label for uncompacted blocks, and it also is more sensitive to recent blocks (assuming those are queried much more often than old uncompacted blocks). What this PR does
This PR amends changes from #2862 to align the
grpc_server_max_connection_agesettings between Helm and jsonnet.That is, we observed that having a connection age set in ingester, causes an elevated number of forceful reconnections on the side of
frontend-querierquerier. Because connections from querier to ingester are made via the endpoint registered in the ring, we do want these connections to "stick" longer, and avoid dropping them sporadically.Here we remove
grpc_server_max_connection_agefrom the common config, that Helm generates. Instead, we apply the setting directly to distributor (in addition to query-frontend). This aligns how the setting is used in jsonnet.Which issue(s) this PR fixes or relates to
