May you consider to support 5V SAMC2x parts?
Especially I would like to try ATSAMC21E18A one.

If it is supported by the Arduino framework then this driver would work with little or no modifications?
If not then I am not to keen to add new drivers to my workload, but I will provide guidance if you or someone else will take on the challenge.
