Meeting Agendas for PM/Org meetings

Action Items

To create a new agenda

  • Copy the template below into a new comment
  • Edit the text you pasted with new items for your agenda
  • Add the link to the new comment with its date under Resources/Instructions

Resources/Instructions

The prework should be done before the meeting so that it can be discussed during the meeting. It usually takes about 5 min, if your team reaches all issues being labeled and milestones setup. During cleanup it usually takes about 30 min weekly.

is CTJ building all of the API's or will CTJ be using a few from People Depot project

  • PD will create all the tables that are needed across the entire org, see ERD for MVP
  • CTJ should store their own data (postings, etc.) - anything that PD is not doing.
  • PD and CTJ can discuss where data will be stored once MVP has been achieved.
  • is CTJ building a temporary solution or a permanent one?
  • Can't fully answer this, example: Tables was supposed to be temporary, but now will be in use for 2 years on Jan 4, 2024. CTJ will always have the volunteer postings on the site. How much of the backend stays wtih CTJ really will depend on the speed of PD (currently quite slow), and the effectiveness of the CTJ team (seems very effective now). We will be iterating as we hit blockers and see opportunities. The team working on CTJ should assume that the current guidance (that PD will deliver the ERD), is true, and that CTJ will need to do the rest.

  • How to think about People Depot MVP: It has infrastructure of the content that is common to the following projects: ctj website vrms.

Skills Matrix/Qualifier Page - confirming that you are okay with us using the skills referenced by CoP's or will you want to review them?

  • CTJ research should go look at job postings for various practice areas, and identify skills that are not listed in the matrix.
    • Soft skills seems under populated, that might be harder to populate, but hopefully, the job postings give some indicators
  • CTJ could do research with newly onboarded members of hackforla, to ask them to fill out a matrix and for the user to indicate what skills are not listed there, that they want to get more experience with or that they have experience.

All the languages from all the Hack for LA projects, can be found in this data store. The website team updates that automatically, daily https://github.com/hackforla/website/blob/gh-pages/_data/external/github-data.json

05-08-2024 Agenda and Notes

Prework

Roll Call

Recurring items: Happens on the PM Sunday meeting

  • Accountability and Support Check.
  • continue adding labels to the issue that are still missing them (see audit links above)

New Items

  • Want to make sure we are clear that we will only be showing the following Skills Matrix for MVP 1
    1. PM / Project Management
    2. Design + UXR
    3. Engineering
    4. Data Science
    5. DevOps
    6. [From convo with Bonnie Added Soft Skills which will be asked for all disciplines]
  • How should we navigate users? Have them join Onboard or create a CTJ account? Is it okay for us to link to Meet Up?

In future-future state:

  • want people to be able to go to Meet Up and sign up for one of our onboarding and set up VRMS (which will be user account)
    • if users find CTJ directly, promoted to set up user account which will send them to Skills Matrix then VRMS

Find CTJ first and then set up account, doesn't let them see it unless
Tables database API

During onboarding we can let folks know about CTJ and have them sign in

PMs to chat with Dev team about this -- temp solution, because later will use People Depot

Bonnie mentioned that we would have to scrutinize the product re: security-- verify that people are users -- don't want to have an open API that can be hacked

  • For login, we were thinking we could use GitHub as a login for user side. What is People Depot doing with login ?
No, don't have user authentication (can use as single sign in but don't think this will be MVP1)

Using Amazon Cognito -- will ask gmail address -- People Depot not here yet
Share this site - https://dev.homeunite.us/signin with Dev team for an example of login with Cognito. Team will be updating the site soon. See most recent work on the site i.e. features. Will get working on this with incubator.

Questions for Dev:

  1. What's the first thing that will have to be true to have a dev site in incubator - url live demo environment -- on the internet (with functionality)

Goal is to have every month seeing something new

  • Make new agenda for next week
    • Carry forward the "New Items" that we did not get to look at today
