I am a big fan of CodiMD 👍 👍 👍 but I would like that it stops closing parenthesis automatically ; I prefer to do that myself when I like.
I guess this feature exists because some people prefer parenthesis to be closed automatically, so the way to make everybody happy would be to make an option "Close parenthesis automatically" in the settings.
Philosophically, I do not like when markdown editors are trying to be smart. The great thing with Markdown is that you precisely describe what you want ; whereas traditional WYSIWYG editors constantly fail to guess what users want to write.
So I feel that CodiMD is "killing" the power of Markdown by trying to be smart and not letting the writers write what they want to write themselves. I explained my point of view on Slant (See "Tries to be smart" Con).
I could eventually develop this feature if you help me a bit (introduce me to the relevant code).
