This will allow Leagues and Rooms to make their own rules on Extrapolation abuse.

Since you cant solve this issue by removing it, you could give power to the Leagues/Hosts to manage Extrapolation as they wish.

Some players want to play with no limit on Extrapolation? Good for them, they can play with 200 Extrapolation all of them.

Others (most) want a limit? They can agree on a Extrapolation number rule, and since it is transparent what Extrapolation people are using, they will have no choice but to follow the rules.

Players could cheat this system in the same way they could cheat a limit to extrapolation though.

Could you have an optional feature where the host controls the Extrapolation number for all players in the room?

So host opens room, chooses the option to manage Extrapolation, and all players are using that number whether they want to or not (so they all have 200, 50, 0 or whatever the Host decides).

If you did this it would also solve the problems. You would only have to make a signal next to the room title saying [Extrapolation Host Controlled].

And again, its all optional, so nobody can complain. People have freedom of association, whether they want to play in Extrapolation Host Controlled room or not.

It's a client-site setting, so the host can't control it.

And this cant be changed to a host-site setting if the host wishes to do that?

Is it going to be impossible to ever control players extrapolation then, under any circumstances?

All of what you suggest can be implemented, just not in a way that is cheat-proof.

Is it not worth a try then, for the largest issue that has and will ever face Haxball?

The community would probably implement their own anti-cheat software in time, as well. Just like what happened with macro there were programs some leagues used, that when played Haxball on, managed to successfully end macro usage in officials.

I think it's not worth a try, unfortunately.

Why? If someone would make a league, I don't think many players would play in these leagues (I mean top players, though). Because of this, a lot of players are abusing extrapolation. Even I don't need some extra extrapolation, I'm using 15 extrapolation at the moment. I tried to increase my extrapolation and I felt too overpowered, though. That's why a lot of players are abusing extrapolation, the largest issue that will face Haxball ever, unfortunately.

EDIT: It might be worth a try, but it wouldn't be interesting league, for example. What about HCL?

Perhaps bringing extrapolation back to ±50

The number of people who AGREED with the update was larger than the number who were AGAINST

I strongly support this idea.
