I will think about how to do it sometime. Could be e.g. like the fnget test.

On a node with CVMFS and ALRB set up, do
diagnostics
db-fnget
@igable can help with that.

Take a look at the db-fnget script and see if perhaps it can be converted into a standalone script, or consider if you want to install CVMFS on the Shoal Server.
