Latest code in master has some of these early explorations ... no river stuff yet, just initial cell-ification of altitude/bump map images.

While it's definitely possible to make good use of this approach, I'm not sure it's the best fit, given that I've already got a tool that generates the planets, etc. Let's see were #20 takes us ...

I ended up performing erosion and generating rivers with Wilbur.
