Introduction

THIS BOM REFERS TO THE ISSUE 3 ANALOG BOARD.

This page lists the parts needed for the optional Analog frontend for the 6-12 bit Board.
This board is plugged into the 6, 8 or 12 bit board and adds support for a limited range of computers with analog RGB or YUV output. It provides an external 6 way IDC connector so that cables for different computers can be easily swapped and it will also work with any 3 bit TTL computer like the BBC so you don't have to remove the board to use those computers as well.

Resistors

Part Description Supplier Quantity Part Ref Min Order Notes
470R 0805 Resistor RS 679-1428 1 off R1 50
75R 0805 Resistor RS 679‑1673 3 off R9-11 50
1K 0805 Resistors RS 740‑9063 3 off R2-4 50
10K 0805 Resistors RS 740‑9072 1 off R5 50
47K 0805 Resistors RS 905‑2928 3 off R6-8 50

Capacitors

Part Description Supplier Quantity Part Ref Min Order Notes
100nf 0805 Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor RS 464‑6688 5 off C1-C5 50 working voltage ≥ 10V
10uF 0805 Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor RS 846‑7313 4 off C6-9 50 working voltage ≥ 10V

Semiconductors

Part Description Supplier Quantity Part Ref Min Order Notes
MAX9144ESD+ Farnell 2518925 2 off U1,2 1 SOIC-14 (Previously used MAX9108ESD+)
74LVC4066D RS 051-0493 1 off U3 10 SOIC-14
MAX5259EEE+ Farnell 2514646 1 off U4 1 QSOP-16
MCP1754ST-3302 RS 755‑9521 1 off U5 5 SOT23A package
TS5A3159ADBVR Farnell 3118293 1 off U6 1 SOT23A package
Schottky diode MBR130LSFT1G Farnell 2463407 1 off D1 5 SOD-123FL package

There is an optional extra IC on the underside of the pcb (U7 - also MAX9144ESD+) this is not normally fitted

NOTE: Earlier versions of this BOM used MAX9108ESD+ instead of MAX9144ESD+ for U1,U2 & U7. All three parts must be the same type if you are fitting U7 on an existing board.

Sockets / Connectors

Part Description Supplier Quantity Part Ref Min Order Notes
Samtec SSW-106-02-T-D-RA 2x6 way 0.1" female right angle PCB Header Farnell 2779580 1 off P1 1
Samtec TLW-104-06-T-S 1x4 way male header RS 198-2815 1 off P2 1 Long side of pins goes in PCB
Samtec TLW-101-06-T-S 1x1 way male header RS 198-2806 2 off P6, P7 1 P6 & P7 should be trimmed flush with the plastic to act as support/spacers (see photo)
6 Way IDC header (vertical) Farnell 2215302 1 off P4 1

Note after trimming their pins as mentioned above, P6 and P7 act as feet and rest on top of the Pi zero's camera connector to stop P2 on the analog board from falling out of it's socket if you push down on the six way header which might result in the bottom of the analog board shorting against components on the Pi zero.

Cable assembly

Part Description Supplier Quantity Min Order Notes
6 Way IDC header Farnell 2215245 1 off 1
6 way Ribbon cable Farnell 2628361 1 off 1
6 way DIN plug Farnell 2787094 1 off 1

The computer end of the cable is obviously system specific. The 6-pin DIN connector listed above is suitable for the Amstrad CPC, BBC and Electron.

Alternative RGB Input Connector (Not required if using above connectors)

Instead of using the 6 way IDC header (P4), there is space for a molex picoblade connector (P3) and you can buy a premade cable with such connectors on both ends which can be cut in half to provide two picoblade to bare end cables which can be connected to 6 way DIN or other suitable connectors as above.

Molex 53048-0610 Picoblade Connector Farnell 1012260 1 off P3 1
Molex 15134-0606 Picoblade Cable Assembly RS 1 off 1
