Hold action hard to achieve #20888
Comments
+1 for this ... it's very frustrating to use and a fix would be most welcome! I find myself very often triggering the tap action even though I am trying very hard (too hard!) to long press just perfectly to trigger the hold action. |
There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. Due to the high number of incoming GitHub notifications, we have to clean some of the old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates. |

Confirmed. Once we lose interest in replying to a dumb bot before devs even look at this. And it will not be the first time over here. |
Checklist
Describe the issue you are experiencing
It's a long-lasting problem, found years ago. Reported to iOS section but recently I've been redirected to the frontent sub project:
I can confirm the same behavior in HA Application (iOS) as well as in the browser (Safari).
The issue is, that hold action is very sensitive to a finger movement, when attempting to achieve the hold. Initially, I thought it was about any movement. But recently I found, it's related to vertical scroll (maybe because only vertical scroll is triggered on my HA pages). Anyway, when pressing an item for long-press, any little movement of a finger that leads to even slight vertical scrolling of the page (vertical scroll bar appears), interrupts a time after which press should turn into long-press.
It makes it extremely difficult to achieve long-press.
Note, that this vertical scrolling appears even if the page content doesn't overflow (so there is no need for vertical scrolling at all)
Describe the behavior you expected
The long-press should be as usable as in native iOS
