GPG Key for the OBS Repo has expired #793
Comments
Confirmed same issue, they need to update their key. |
The same here. |
Yeah, it's annoying, I added the repository in feren OS, and now everyone using feren OS is getting the error too, having to remove the PPA for now, until this finally gets fixed @horst3180 PPA Issue |
I can confirm this too. |
same on my Ubuntu 16.04, now I have to remove the theme, hope you update the expired key soon. |
@kyawkyawsoezhu You don't need to remove the theme, just ignore the warning message about the key being expired and wait for it to be updated |
@kyawkyawsoezhu Just Remove The PPA without PPA Purge |
Same problem here. And as @coreybruce rightly says, even though you get the GPG error message, you don't need to remove the the PPA, as this problem still lets you update the rest of the system properly. And thanks to @horst3180 for sharing this awesome theme with the Linux community. |
Agreed it will only warn you about the expired key tho I do hope it gets fixed soon |
Same here. |
same here |
Guys, please use the Github reaction buttons instead of posting meaningless "+1" or "same here" comments on repositories. That just generates useless notifications and emails to everyone subscribed to the issue and interested in actual updates. |
Actually it is useful, its showing multiple people having a issue and a
issue that needs to be fixed.

I have the same issue as well |
@someothernewuser You know that no matter how many times you comment, he's only gonna get ONE notification on the issue, right? |
Would be cool to get this fixed... not sure what to do in the meantime - I did a reinstall and now I can't get it at all. |
...also, maybe rename this from 'OBS' to 'Arc Theme' possibly? It might've been confusing the dev, for all we know? |
@anewuser calm down mate |
You know that any of you can package this theme for yourself or in a PPA? Building this is really easy… That being said, if you’ve already installed the theme keeping this OBS repo on your system is pointless since development has stopped. So just remove it. |
...let's hope its alive |
It appears :home Horst3180 has been removed from the openSUSE repos. apt now fails with a timeout instead of warning the key is expired. So, it's most likely safe to assume removing the repo is the next step. |
So, what now? I don't know and care enough to learn to fix this myself. Did somebody took over the development and made it available through PPA? Or I need to find another good theme? |
Are you sure this isn't related to the OBS error published 6 hours ago: "Our download infrastructure is dead atm. Publishing is stopped therefore. Building works as usual, just publishing will happen later." |
@d0od88 download.opensuse.org is back up, but there isn't a home: entry for Horst3180. I don't think it being missing was caused by the infrastructure failure, but rather, it was removed. It's just an assumption, though. |
...this isn't good. |
@d0od88 I think you were right. It appears the home: repos have been restored. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home%3A/Horst3180/ Sorry for the false alarm :) |
At this point, I think we can declare @horst3180 MIA. No sign of life on GitHub for months, last connection on DeviantArt 29 weeks ago… |
@ArchangeGabriel , just forget arc-theme 😉, most of distributions use adapta-gtk-theme as default. |
@horst3180 Could you please update the Expired Key really quick? Even this theme might not be under active development anymore, making the key Never Expire or Expire In 5 Years shouldn't take that long :) Thanks! |
@i2000s We've been waiting ages for this, I don't think he's coming back. |
@feren Do you know who are other maintainers? At this point it seems that @horst3180 is probably not doing well IRL (I hope so that's not the case). If other maintainers are interested maybe they could fork this repo and make it new official Arc Theme repo? I'ts nicest theme out there and it's better then suggested Adapta theme or any other theme in my opinion. I would try to learn developing themes and help it out with that. |
Like ceyhunnabiyev said, at this point Adapta is the way to go... https://github.com/adapta-project/adapta-gtk-theme |
I like pop too https://github.com/pop-os/gtk-theme |
@drakkan Pop = Adapta + Colour Swaps |
… por el del repositorio oficial
I'm sorry for the noob question, m'gentlesirs, but how do I remove the PPA? I removed the key with |
I don't even find the repository listed in either |
Given the Arc fork, does anyone want to make a new PPA for the fork? |
@adalvigi It's sources.list.d, not sources.d |
See NicoHood's fork for future updates! Please PR changes to the new fork. I assume the PPA will be following up. |
...and someone, please, make a PPA for this new fork. |
If someone can point me a direction to debianizing the source code, I am happy to help set up the PPA on launchpad. I have tried |
@mhutter Once this PPA is ready, the Issue may be best closed (Close Issue button below) |
The new PPA from @fossfreedom can be added to your sources.list on Ubuntu 16.04-18.04 by
Alternatively, you add the following line(s) to your sources file:
Install the theme package by The PPA corresponds to @NicoHood's soft-fork. Tested on Ubuntu 16.04 and everything works! I have purged the OBS PPA source completely. No complaints about key expiring anymore :) |
As the Title says... apt complains:
