Site Wide Calendar Entry

Is it possible to generate a calendar which is displayed in all spaces on your site?
I manage a national club which has 13 regions. Each region has its own space. We wish to create regional events and have them in the calendar within all the regional spaces.

This is currently not possible. Entries are always assigned to one Space.
Maybe the Share Between module could help here.

Would a workaround be to add an 'external calendar' in each space subscribing to the 'main' calendar?
