Hi @Erich-Hauptli, I changed the judgement condition so that the PEC is only disabled for the PSU and doesn't affect the other sensors on the PMBus. Is this modification what you expect? |

There's proper support for avoiding the CAPABILITY register upstream. Please backport https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/drivers/hwmon/pmbus/pmbus_core.c?h=v5.16-rc4&id=e5befc024cb45 and implement the patch in terms of that.
Also it's not appropriate to be changing the exponent/mantissa behaviour in pmbus_core - please add this work-around in the driver.

Ultimately this gets the right outcome, but it doesn't do what I asked which was to backport the upstream patch to make it clear what is going on. That is, I expected you to do a git cherry-pick -x ... then add the patch to add the flag to the cffps driver on top. Ping @eddiejames .

Hi @geissonator , Referring to @amboar suggestion, this commit has been backported and merged (420bbb6). Could we update linux to the latest commit, or do I need to verify something? Because the last update was 6 months ago and many new commits were merged during that time ...... So far I have only tested adding this patch after updating linux to the latest commit (LINUX_VERSION ?= "5.4.173", SRCREV="420bbb68512aa1063878651a53736ec0a75e6fee") and the image build was successful. Thank you. |
Due to mowgli's psu(Artesyn) doesn't support PMBus PEC checking, thermal reading and linear-16-conversion-formula, need to remove them by updating driver patch for fixing psu reading error. Signed-off-by: LuluTHSu <Lulu_Su@wistron.com>
