Error when clicking on unicode/punycode links

For example, when viewing this HTTP blog post in Kristall:
https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2022/12/some-more-silly-punycode-domain-names/

If I click on any of the URLs with punycode in them, I get an error dialogue "Failed to execute request to", and the tab's contents are replaced by a "Timeout" message with a non-functional back button.

Pasting the raw punycode URLs into the address bar works fine. It's specifically clicking on the links that fails.
