Account settings (on website): locale = Finnish, common names place = Finland
Android: device language = English, iNaturalist language = Finnish, auto upload = off, inat app version

version 1.18.11 - 417; Android API = 27

  1. Make a new observation, choose no photo or sound.
  2. Details page displays in Finnish (I'm covering my location)

  1. Add an ID. I started typing in English, but the taxon I wanted displays Finnish common name:

  1. Select the taxon, save observation. Common name is shown in Finnish.

  1. Once synced, the observation is showing the English common name:

Closing and quitting app doesn't seem to change anything, nor does logging out or logging back in. Attached log file.

Still happening in build 420. Here's another log file in case there's anything worthy in there.

@tiwane, I can no longer replicate this following the steps you provided. Can you close this if it's fixed?
