i think it is related to #272
i tried influxdb 2.0 alpha and influxdb 2.0 has telegraf config generation ui. and telegraf was guided to take config from influxdb while starting.
i curious about the plan of remote config feature with influxdb 2.0

thanks!

We are planning to have a plugin system, similar to the current system for inputs and outputs, that can load the configuration. I have done some prototyping on this idea in https://github.com/danielnelson/tgconfig.

With InfluxDB, we want to be able to grab the configuration and also signal an update when changes are made so that the configuration can be reloaded, all using the HTTP api. This is a long term plan, and is unlikely to be complete by the time InfluxDB 2.0 is released. For now, when the configuration is updated you will either need to restart or reload (SIGHUP) Telegraf.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
