[migrate from meeting notes 2022-03-21]

What was the intention of having this flag? How is it done?

  • OBIS used to have lots of record from north sea which has >1000m which doesn’t makes sense because depth was not in the right unit. This check is to flag potential records which have depth in the wrong unit.
  • Offset is used - haven’t reviewed the data and offset used
  • Variation of depth is large at continental slope as the comparison is based on average value of GEBCO grid
  • Check if GEBCO has range values for the grid -> better than average

Users are unclear about the flag -> documentation needs to be done at OBIS manual. Suggested to do a webinar about QC for OBIS nodes.
