Incorrect result for Pinterest email #22

your tool said pinterest email is taken
but pinterest said no account in this email
please fix this problem

@Lucky97 Do you have any particular example of this? The tool says that it is taken/reserved, meaning that even if there is no account associated with an email, it may still be reserved by the platform itself because e.g. it is a keyword

sir i check my own email i don't have Pinterest account in my email.. but your tool said email taken.. how that possible? can you please check

I too have encountered the same problem. I tried with my email (socialscan -a fastfire83@hotmail.com), which is not associated with a Pinterest account. Socialscan does not show Pinterest as available in the output. The same problem also appears to be with Github.

@fastfire @Lucky97 Thanks for the reports. I've checked again and the tool is still working correctly,

I am quite sure that your emails show up as used because you already have an associated Facebook / Google account that has been linked to Pinterest. Try logging in to Pinterest using your email and it should show this.

As for GitHub, yes there was indeed an issue which I've just fixed. It'll be patched in the next update. Thanks for raising it!

sir when i try to reset my password pintreset said no account in this email.. and i also check my facebook and google account i dont login with gmail or facebook.. don't know why i got this error i think pintreset is update in my country. i make new fresh email and check in your tool.. tool said email taken.. how that possible ?

@Lucky97 Would you be OK with sharing an example of such an email? That would make it easier to check what the issue is. Yes this could be due to a different version being served based on your location.

please check this.. this is my fresh new email.. i didnot use this email in facebook or pintreset but your tool said its taken on pintreset how that posibile please i need help how to fix this ? check this screenshort https://i.imgur.com/VbQ3X1L.png

i have tried changing different ips like singapore, usa, uk but it didn't work, facing same problem. please sir check this and update

I'm unable to reproduce this issue even with a new email. Could you try socialscan unused@not.email -p pinterest and tell me your output? This appears as available for me so just to confirm if we are having different results even with the same input.

I'm unable to reproduce this issue even with a new email. Could you try socialscan unused@not.email -p pinterest and tell me your output? This appears as available for me so just to confirm if we are having different results even with the same input.

For me (Southeast Asia) and on the Travis jobs (US), the email is shown as available so this confirms that we are getting different results with the same query, perhaps due to location (related to #17).

I’ll have to think about how we can test and manage different versions of platforms being served to different users. In the meantime, using a VPN should help you get around this.

Hi, now the same thing happens with Spotify. All email accounts that are given as input to socialscan appear registered with the service.

@fastfire I'm unable to reproduce what you're facing locally... I'm able to get query both available and unregistered emails for Spotify. Try using a VPN if possible? Feel free to create a new issue for this too.

Could one of you run the latest version of socialscan with the --debug flag and provide the output?

@fastfire I believe that displays the correct result for Pinterest (available)? Could you provide the debug output for a email that should be available but is shown as taken?

@Lucky97 It should show 1.4.1 when you run socialscan --version. If so, run socialscan with the --debug flag for an email with a wrong result and link the ouput here.
