I've seen another bot do this where it'll dm the player directly and ask if the player would like an alarm a certain amount of time before the match.

this would be useful along with a command/ phrase to turn this off so the bot doesn't message at all and you just get pinged in the server.

Could also add a dialog (like the join/reserve/leave buttons thing) that lets you turn on/off reminders. Doesn't require DMs and works just as well.
