Known Issues

• Portions of normal maps and MER maps are visible on certain blocks. The affected blocks vary depending on if there are other resource or behavior packs in use. (Shown in screenshot above.)
• Z-fighting occurs on chiseled bookshelf and decorated pots.
• Chiseled bookshelves appear to have no normal map applied.
• Bamboo blocks textures become compressed

Dev Blog

RTX shader technical limitations have stymied progress again. New blocks, like chiseled bookshelves and decorated pots, use layered textures which causes Z-fighting with RTX ON. The terrain atlas remains out of alignment and is still restricted to a specific size (16384px²).

Remember when I said I was going to work on Java textures more because Bedrock RTX is dead? Yeah? Well, I say a lot of things. It's now the opposite. I primarily focused on Bedrock projects since then. Bug fixes and new Marketplace content renewed my faith and interest in Bedrock... for now. Thus, no updated Java textures (for now).

I suspect Bedrock RTX is dead, so I am currently paying more attention to the Java and Mineways versions of my resource pack. Here's a summary from the JG RTX Discord:

"I think Mojang has moved on from ray tracing. Bundling Java and Bedrock now seems telling (in addition to the lack of updates/fixes). I get the impression: Java is for enthusiasts, who care about graphics and will take the time to find packs and shaders; whereas Bedrock is focused on add-ons and cross-platform."

I highly encourage you to try JG RTX with Mineways and Omniverse Create. So far SEUS seems to be the best shader for the Java version. Here are a few screenshots to compare the Java, Bedrock and Mineways versions:
