Indeed, but is there a specific reason why you'd want Jbang to use that newer version?
Not that we're against updating it, but as you can see it quite low on our list of priorities right now 🙂
But if there's a good reason we can of course make it a priority.

They are not doing patch releases for 4.6.x anymore are they?

4.7 has some upgrades that has fixes CVEs - log4j 2.19.0 and others.
And its only good to keep up with newer releases.
