Noisy Quantum Circuit simulation - locally purified structure (LPDO)

Hello :)

I am interested in simulating noisy quantum circuits. In particular, I would like to follow the locally purified density operator (LPDO) structure from this paper.

What would be the best way to implement this within Quimb? As I understand, quantum circuits in Quimb do not use any particular structure, but rather just contractions of general tenors, so I am a bit unsure how to approach this.

I see this function does something similar, but acting on the full density operator vectorized, and not only on the purified version like in the approach I intend to use.
